Apple entered the smartphone market with a bang with the iPhone. Apple launched iPhone in January 2007 amidst great curiosity regarding the tech giant’s entry into the phone arena. The phone did not disappoint with a razor sharp design that was unheard of in those days.

The cool looks were not the only thing working in this phone’s favor. It also had a very efficient iOS that was not only smooth and swift but also very user friendly. There were no cluttered physical buttons spoiling the front screen, an elegant circle right at the bottom served as the home button which apart from the touchscreen was the only thing required for navigation.

The iPhone came with a 3.5 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display that was both bright and crisp. The colors were vibrant and the viewing angles splendid. The said display had a Corning Gorilla glass to protect it from accidental falls or the occasional key scrape in your pocket. The phone came in 3 variants of 4/8/16GB internal memory and it did not have a microSD card slot for any external memory boost. This is one feature that Apple still lacks despite multiple iterations. However, while the Android loyalists might criticize this drawback, the Apple fans applaud the added security provided due to the lack of a third party card.

The iPhone had a 2MP rear camera capable for taking decent snaps in well lit conditions.

This was the phone that revolutionized the smartphone market and paved the way for what it is today. The phone did reasonably well in Pakistan as well despite its price being higher than some of the Android phones at the time.
