Apple & Samsung Might Water Proof Their Smartphones, By Using Liquipel Technology

Only a week ago we posted an article about Liquipel technology and how we use it to waterproof our smartphones, which is a very handy yet very affordable service and it only costs $59.

HzO

You might remember the demo video in that post, when the guy was playing around with an iPhone 4 immersed into water, well it was really cringing to see that sight. Basically, that technology is based on a repellent formula which does not let water damage the mainboard and other things in the device. Well, now it seems like that we are going to see a little more of this technology in our tech world, as according to a report, a company is in talks with Apple and Samsung to apply this particular technology at production stage of the smartphones.

Samsung Chairman Impressed With This Technology

The company is named as HzO and it has made a very similar product to Liquipel and named it as WaterBlock, which was also previously shown off at the CES event held last week. While Liquipel started to hit the end consumers, HzO on the other hand has straight targeted the top manufacturers in the market, Apple and Samsung. The report shows that the company is already in talks with Apple while Samsung is also looking pleased with its proposals. The report was published by pocket-lint today, which states that the Chairman of Samsung was so impressed with this technology, that he “couldn’t believe his eyes” and it seems like soon we will see the implementation of WaterBlock in very near future.

Smartphones Prices Will Not Increase Much

As you can notice that Liquipel is providing this technology for $59, so we can easily say that the implementation of this technology on a larger production scale will cost much less and we can also say that if HzO succeeds in getting a deal from either of the big players, we might not see any particular increase in the product prices as well. Here take a look at the video from HzO to get detailed knowledge about this technology:
