Apps Removed From Market Will Also Be Provided

The idea of this unofficial Android store comes from one of the prominent members of the team behind CyanogenMod project, Koushik Dutta. According to him, the initial version of this store will be providing root apps which obviously can be downloaded and installed on the rooted Android devices only. Dutta Also stated that the store will also bring those apps as well which were removed from the Android Market for no reason or due to some other lame reasons.

There are also reports showing that team CyanogenMod are also thinking of making an app store which will be placed directly inside their firmware while Android Market could be installed later as part of the modification. CyanogenMod is really getting very popular in the masses, as currently there are one million users who are enjoying these modified ROMs on their devices. So, it seems like the new App Store will also be very beneficial for the team financially as well.

Paid & Free Apps

So, the main idea Dutta and the rest of his team is thinking about is that they will develop an app store very similar to Cydia, which will be providing modifications and apps. Those apps and modifications are going to be free or paid as well, all will depend on the developer behind that particular app. You can also visit Dutta’s Google+ page where he has said that when an app is sold for a price, a percentage of that sale will go to CyanogenMod to fulfill all of its requirements.

The new store will mainly offer all those apps which are rejected by Google, including one click root apps, emulators and other apps having visual voicemail. They also tried to partnership with Amazon but Amazon did not respond.
