Facebook Video Calling Messenger App Releasing Soon
A few months ago, Facebook partnered with Skype to provide video calls for the desktop version of the website. It has gotten very popular by now and many users were expecting to get this feature on their smartphones running on popular platforms like Android, Windows Phones or iOS. Well, we have great news for all those, as according to a latest report, Facebook video calling for mobile devices project is already in process and is in beta stage and will be released very soon.
App Currently Being Tested By Facebook
The report was published today by an Italian blog named as iPhoneItalia, and the report stated that according to their excusive sources Facebook is currently testing the latest build of Facebook Messenger app which will have the video calling feature. iPhoneItalia was also able to post the screen shots of the app running video chat feature. In the screen shots you will be able to notice that the interface is quite simple. As you can see that the video of other person is shown in the center while the user’s own video is placed in a small box on the right bottom. While the buttons including Answer, Decline, End Call and Continue are being shown at the usual bottom.

After introducing the video desktop interface, it seems that Facebook wants to bring the same service even on IOS devices. In this regard, thecompany has just released a new beta for developers the Facebook Messenger Beta where it is active – albeit in a rudimentary way – support for video calls.

iPod & iPad 2 Will Also Get This App
The report mentioned that iPhone 4/4S and iPad will be able to get this Facebook Messenger updated app. While, the report failed to mention iPod touch or iPad 2, as both of these devices also have the FaceTime camera features. But if you closely take a look at the second screen shot you will see that it is taken from an iPod, which means that iPod touch and iPad 2 will also be able to get this update, as there is no proper reason why they cannot.
