Google Maps Updated For Android

Google has updated and release the latest version of Google Maps for Androids. Google Maps version 5.9, has been added with many new and cool features. Usually Google don’t releases huge updates, same in this case but the new features have been proved very helpful. In the previous update of Google Maps, they released the support for transit navigation. With that feature you can have GPS directions in more than 400 cities around the world while using public transit. So when you are riding a bus in a city, this app will show you the bus stops and routes to your destination. This feature runs in the background of your phone and alarms you when your busGoogle Maps updated for android 2011 stop comes.

This transit navigation function has gotten a little better in the latest version 5.9 for the Android. Voice and ring notifications are added to the app. Now you don’t have to keep an eye on the map all the time, it will inform you when to get off the bus or train. This function actually works with the GPS so if you are in a Subway and passing through a dead zone, then it might not be that accurate.

Another great feature added in Google Maps 5.9 is a Labs feature which is called Bubble Buttons. It is an awesome feature and should not be a labs feature but instead it should be called a baked-on option. You can toggle it on or off from the setting just like all the other labs features. After you turn it on, you will see bubble buttons on the place markers, so that instead of going down to the irritating Place Page, you can have a quick call to that place by just pressing this tab. This update is available at the Android Market, enjoy.
