Google Video App for Android Operated Devices

There is an app named Google Movies and Videos, it was created for the tablets running on Honeycomb like Motorola XOOM and others. Now Google has launched Google Videos app for all the smartphones having Android 2.2 or higher.

This little app makes you able to rent any movie from the Android Market. There is a collection of many thousand movies in the Market. All you have to do is just download and install Google Video app from the Android Market, select a movie from their vast collection and rent it. You can instantly stream any movie on your phone.

If you don’t have network coverage or a WiFi hotspot around you, you can always view videos on the go on your phone; that is the Personal videos section. In this app you can change the setting to your will, you can use either a mobile or a WiFi network to stream movies from the market.

You can get this app free from Android Market. Following are some of the remarks given by the users who have tried this app. First were the problems with YouTube, people are not able to stream YouTube videos. Then there were some complaints regarding the quality of rental movies being poor.

Some people claim that they can get movies directly from Android market so what is the point of this app. But the advantage of this app is that it lets you navigate through the movies collection in a very convenient way. This app is also restricted in some of the regions. The major problem we heard most about is rooting. Rooted devices are unable to run this app.

There are many people with the rooted phones, they even tried to unroot their phone but it still didn’t work. We have got a little adjustment to that, to remove the DRM of Google Video app, all you have to do is just dump your localhost (lo) and to evade rooted device check, remove SuperUser.apk. Then if you want to get root access, use “su” command on adb shell or chmod 4755 on your dump script before removing SuperUser.apk.
