HTC has Most Updated Android Phones in Market!

Android Update Alliance (AUA) was organized back in May to unite phone makers under the umbrella of timely Android updates  and since then we haven’t heard a word about the idealistic venture and just in the previous days, we have seen that Gingerbread is slowly replacing older versions of the platform, but still the dominant one is Froyo flavor. So who can you trust for the latest and the fastest updates and the most up-to-date Android versions?

To compile a list of Android handsets with their respective versions from every phone maker from the AUA AndroidandMe has taken the time and has come to some conclusions.  Firstly, it should be clearly visible in the list that HTC updates its phones most often, while other mobile phone companies like Samsung, LG and Motorola still have to work a lot in the update department.

But the above statement doesn’t mean that HTC’s track record should be perfect, it has updated its older devices like the HTC EVO 4G from 2.1 to Gingerbread, but the remaining others like myTouch 3G Slide only got updated to Froyo. Sony Ericsson has also perfectly performed in its newest devices with latest Gingerbread support.

In the case of carriers, Sprint is one offering the most up-to-date selection of phones stateside. And we believe that others will join too, and AT&T has already promised to bring its whole 2011 Android fleet updated.

Have you ever felt that a company has disappointed you with its really slow updates? And you are thinking that the situation with Android updates has completely been changed since the AUA was formed?
