HTC Sense 4.0 Coming With A Couple Of Changes

There is no doubt that HTC’s Sense UI is the one skin which is the most popular in all the other Android devices, you can instantly recognize a HTC device due to the huge clock and distinct looks of HTC Sense running on them. According to a report from PocketNow, the latest version of HTC Sense UI has been leaked out and they have got their hands on it. At the moment, this version is a non-final one while it will be introduced in upcoming HTC devices including HTC Ville and HTC Edge mainly.

HTC Sense, The Heaviest Android Skin

On the other hand, we can also say that HTC Sense is one of the heaviest Android skins, as compared to TouchWiz UI from Samsung and even Motoblur from Motorola are lighter than the Sense. Furthermore, recently HTC added HTC Watch and Listen in it as well, so the Sense version number 3.5 is even heavier than its previous versions.

A Couple Of Changes Made

Well, it seems like HTC has taken these issues under consideration and the version 4.0 will be a lighter one having less visual items on the screen and will provide better typography. HTC Sense was never designed to support landscape mode but the new Sense 4.0 will bring landscape mode functionality as well. So, when you will flip your phone, it will turn into landscape mode and the tabs will appear on the right side instead of bottom, to save space of course. HTC has also changed to old fashioned bubbly menus in the older versions, while the newer version brings simpler look to match Ice Cream Sandwich. Sense 4.0 will bring gray sliders and the buttons will have rounded edges.

HTC is not planning to provide on screen keys on the ICS devices and its devices will have the physical buttons on them. Additionally, HTC is also placing only three buttons on the device, while ICS typically requires four keys. Another great feature introduced in the new Sense 4.0 is that it will have iOS 5 like lock screen notifications functionality. It means that users will be able to see the notifications on the lock screen by pulling down the notification shade, without unlocking.
