HTC Targets Low Range Users By Introducing “HTC Desire U”

Well, HTC’s One branded smartphones did not do very well in the market and after that we started to hear rumors that suggested that HTC might get out of the Android smartphone business and focus on Windows Phone more. Well, the Taiwanese company has proved all those rumors wrong by introducing a new smartphone which is basically targeted towards mid and low range users, it is called HTC Desire U.

Specfications

Well, it will be a low priced and affordable handset and that is why HTC decided to add Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich instead of the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. In addition to that, the device will be coming with a single core 1GHz processor under the hood so we are not expecting some premium performance from it.

It has a pretty decent design and body and it comes with a 4.0 inch display along with 800 x 480 pixel resolution which is pretty standard for the low end devices. On the back there is a 5MP camera which is capable of recording videos with WVGA resolution. Other features include Beats Audio and a powerful 1650 mAh battery on the back.

Other specs of HTC Desire U include 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It will also be coming with a support of microSD card and other connectivity features include Wifi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GSM connectivity.

Price

In our opinion this is a very low end device and it might not be able to make any waves in the market. On the other hand, it is very likely that the device will be hitting the shelves in the emerging markets. We don’t know when HTC is planning on launching this device but it is a possibility that it will hit the markets in the coming months. It will be coming with a low price tag and we don’t think that its price will go any higher that 20k in Pakistan.
