A report from BBC states that Indian authorities have now put a daily limit for sending SMS on every subscriber. The step was taken due to the increase in telemarketing and SPAM text messages. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India passed a new regulation today which stated that now every subscriber is limited to send only 100 SMSs in a day. Well, it will certainly be a relief for millions of subscribers who receive unwanted SPAM messages every day.
Apparently, it will not completely end the telemarketing and SPAM SMSs but still they will be reduced to a very low level. Just like India, Pakistani mobile phone subscribers also very tired of getting unwanted text messages from telemarketers and Spammers. On daily bases, every subscriber receives 6-8 promotional messages from his own network provider and additional 5-7 messages are sent by marketers. Usually the rate of SPAM messages received in major cities is higher than other non crowded areas.
