Install Ice Cream Sandwich On Your Galaxy S & S II [PROCEDURE]

The most recent and important update is that some days ago, the operating system of Google`s Android named as Ice Cream Sandwich was open-sourced. Some brilliant hackers somehow managed to get into it and have succeeded to place their OS into most of the popular smartphones. This post basically describes that how we can have ICS on our Samsung Galaxy S & S-II.smartphone

We have got the news from twitter where xplodwild, developer of this installation, posted the links from where we can have files required for ICS on S & S-II.

Alpha 7 is in its early stages and some of the features are not working on it including sound, camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi etc. At the moment this build is not for daily use. It will be better if you keep yourself away from it until it gets stabilized.

Process For Installing Ice Cream Sanmdwich

Pakistan

The process for the installation of Android 4.0 ICS Alpha is as follows:

Precautions:

  1. Root your smartphone and if you do not know how to root then follow how to root Galaxy S II and flash ClockworkMod Recovery is also required.
  2. Your phone must be charged enough to undergo this process which takes about 5-6 minutes. If the battery runs out of time then it is believed that it will be bricked.
  3. Take an Android back-up which may be proved helpful if you want to restore your last setup.

Process:

Download the ICS file in your PC which you want to have.

Make a connection from your device through USB and transfer the file through it to the root if your storage media. Turn your device off while the file is transferring and now again turn it on. Hold Home + Volume up + Power button, at the same time, until the main menu shows up. Format /system of the mounts and storage and then /data and /cache should also be formatted.

Get back to the Main Menu and wipe data / factory reset.

From main menu: install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard > [name of file you downloaded in step 1] to flash ICS to your device.

Now, you are done!

This is how you can install the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Alpha build by following the steps correctly. Enjoy it on your Samsung Galaxy S or S-II.

Special thanks to those talented hackers.
