iPhone Users Can Now Add many New Characters & Symbols To Their Text Messages

Some years ago, I was quite happy customer of Sprint and was using HTC Mogul phone. When I saw such simplicity in iPhone so, I decided to get one that is why I left Sprint and signed up the contract with AT&T of two years for the iPhone 3G.

The first thing that I did after getting the iPhone was downloading apps and then I allocate a picture to every contact. My Gmail account was fully setup and it was quite exciting to reply with Standard “sent from my iPhone” line. After that I received a message from my friend who really persuaded me to switch. I was shocked to see the characters that were there in the message.

Actually I was going on a business trip and the message I received was “have a good trip” and there was an airplane after the text. I, without wasting any time, responded to that message and asked that how did he do this? He said “there is an app for it”.

I figured out that it really needed an app known as Emoji and there are different versions of it. The app that I downloaded was free but when I tried to do the same in my friend`s iPhone then it was not free anymore. All of the apps were having the same functions and even same number of characters but with a price of 99 cents.

It is clearly visible for those who are using iOS 5 that if one wants to add characters then no app is required for it and it can be activated on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, running on iOS 5, just by changing some settings in their iDevice. The method with the help of which you can activate it is as follows:

Step 1: Open your Settings Panel then select General.

Step 2: Scroll down and select Keyboard.

Step 3: On this screen, select International Keyboards.

Step 4: Select Add New Keyboard.

Step 5: Scroll down and select Emoji.

Now, you are done and can add different new symbols in your email or text message by just clicking on the globe icon, a key board will appear on your device which will allow you to toggle in between Emoji and your keypad.

By installing a separate keyboard you can access about 722 symbols in your text.
