Licenses of 11 CVAS Providers Suspended By PTA

PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) has suspended licenses of eleven service provider companies for a month. These service providers failed to submit the audit accounts and did not pay the annual regulatory dues for past two to three years. The category of these service providers is CVAS (Class Value Added Service) Sector. And they were awarded their non-exclusive licenses in 2007. Their main functions were to establish, maintain and operate data services, according to the determination order released by PTA.

All LDI, telecom operators and fixed line operators are directed to suspend all the services they are taking from these companies under any agreement till further by PTA.

Following is the list of companies which are forbidden to provide services for 1 month.

  • M/s Ace Connect (Pvt) Ltd
  • M/s ASCUL (Pvt) Ltd
  • M/s Brogstelling Technologies (Pvt) Ltd
  • M/s e-World (Pvt) Ltd
  • M/s Gujjar Communication (Pvt) Ltd
  • M/s Live Line Broad Band (Pvt) Ltd
  • M/s Nom Communcation (Pvt) Ltd
  • M/s Samsung Voice Call (Pvt) Ltd
  • M/s Vision Soft Technologies (Pvt) Ltd
  • M/S Zain Business Empire (Pvt) Ltd
  • M/s Eagle Technologies (Pvt) Ltd

According to PTA, if these companies do not reply to this notification, their license will be kept terminated after this month. PTA also might recover its all payable dues to these operators without any further notice under section 30 of the company’s act. In 2009, PTA sent notices to these companies about asking them to submit the annual financial statements and financial statements within three months. They were also asked to submit their annual license fee which was calculated from the percentage of their annual revenues in a financial year and also the late payment at the rate of 2% of the outstanding amount.

Representative of the operators are summoned by PTA for hearing through notices, which were not received by the operators. The operators did not really care about the payments and terms and conditions of their licenses. So, if they do not cooperate with the PTA, their licenses will be permanently terminated.
