Now Launch Your Favourite Apps Directly From The iPhone Lockscreen Using “AppSlider”

A couple of days ago we heard that Apple has awarded the twenty fifth billion downloaded app from its official App Store which also confirms that Apple App Store is the biggest application hub on the mobile planet. This stat also tells us that currently iOS users are very active in the App Store but on the other hand, there are also many users who are more interested in Cydia store and what it has to offer. Cydia has brought some finest third party tweaks, modifications and apps which cannot be found on the App store.

Today we are going to talk about a latest tweak landed at Cydia store and it has been developed by Ron Melkhior. This tweak is called AppSlider, the name basically means that this tweak is capable of making modifications on either side of the slide to unlock graphics on the lockscreen of your iOS device. This tweak will basically interest all those iPhone users who usually have one or two apps that they have to use on a recurring basis. For example, if you are a hardcore Twitter user then you might like to have the Twitter app available at the lockscreen permanently, so you can tweet quickly whenever you want without even unlocking your device first.

As I said above, this AppSlider tweak can let users to launch custom apps right from the lockscreen. The tweak basically minimizes the slide to unlock bar and lets you add the apps icons to both sides of the slider. AppSlider has its own preferences panel available within the Settings app, and there you can choose the two apps from the tablet view of the installed user apps. Another great thing, which is also found in many Cydia tweaks is the easy of toggline tweak on or off via Settings panel.

AppSlider is undoubtedly a very simple but powerful tweak and I am sure that it will definitely help a lot of iPhone users who have a few apps that they use frequently. The app runs smoothly and does not show any lag whatsoever. AppSlider is a free tweak and is available at BigBoss repo, it also requires iOS 5 to run.
