Official Details About Windows Phone 8 Released; NFC Technology Introduced

Finally, its time when we have some official details about the upcoming big Windows Phone update named as Windows Phone 8 Apollo. Today, Microsoft has revealed the list of new features and improvement that will coming with the Windows Phone 8 build update and you will be glad to know that these are pretty amazing.

Until now, we all know that Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS have been in a very tough race but now it seems like Microsoft is planning on entering and hopefully winning that race with its Windows Phone software for mobile devices. After the announcement of Microsoft Surface, now this will act as a big blow to the rival software makers, as Microsoft is giving a touch challenge to them.

Windows Phone 8 update will bring the long lost freedom to the WP devices that was not included in the Windows phone 7 update. Now, Windows Phone will really enter the big game because Windows Phone 8 update will be supported by devices having more than single core which is really impressive for all those high end customers who did not have any high end Windows Phone device to purchase.

Memory Card Not Supported

In addition to that, Windows Phone 8 will also allow future devices to come with screen resolutions of 720p as well as WXGA. Now unfortunately, Windows Phone 8 will still not support the microSD memory cards, so, if some users were planning on getting extra storage memory they will be a little disappointed.

NFC Technology Included

Additionally, Windows Phone 8 will bring NFC support which will be integrated with a nice piece of software that will also be included in the update. We all know that the trend being digitalizing wallet is now popular in all three major operating systems right now and Microsoft has also made a statement that their version of digital wallet will have the most complete capabilities than the others.

That’s not it, Windows Phone 8 will have the same Windows 8’s Internet Explorer 10 in it. It will also come with built in Nokia Maps technology and as we reported earlier it will support offline maps and turn by turn directions for all around the world.
