Samsung Beats Nokia To Acquire The Top Spot In The Global Sales of Cellphones

Nokia has been going through its worst time and it is very difficult for it to recovers its position that has been occupied by Samsung. Yes, you heard right, Samsung has got the first place in the global sales of cellphones. The result has been seen in a recent research made by a number of analytic firms and Samsung was at the top of the leaderboard followed by Nokia.

Samsung Also Ahead of  Apple

HIS iSuppli and Strategy Analytics has conducted a report in which it has been mentioned that the Finnish handset maker is unable to make their place at the top slot and Samsung with its brilliant effort has at last knocked it down from the leaderboard and it is just because of the poor sales of recent times. A tablet has been posted below in which it can easily be seen that how its share has been dropped from 22.5% while on the other Samsung`s share has been increased to about 25.4% in the global market which is indeed a great honor. Apple is at 3rd place with 9.5% which obviously is not good but as it produces only iPhone then in that sense it is ok.

Lumia Like Smartphones Important For Nokia

The major reason of Nokia`s fall was the low end devices of the company in such an up raising market, Nokia in order to get back to its position will have to launch smartphones like Lumia which is a top-end device. The Executive Vice President of Strategy Analytics named as Neil Mawston has talked about the current problems of Nokia and its golden years, he said:

Nokia’s volumes were squeezed at both ends, as low-end feature phone shipments in emerging markets stalled and high-end Microsoft Lumia smartphones were unable to offset the rapid decline of Nokia’s legacy Symbian business. Nokia was the world’s largest handset vendor between 1998 and 2011, for 14 years, before finally yielding top position to rival Samsung this quarter.

No doubt that the table shows the sale of all the mobile phones but here we are discussing only about the top-end devices which has ruined Nokia in the first quarter of this year. This table shows that a decrement of 5% has been seen in the sales while on the other side Samsung has rose 11% above for the same period. Shipments of Nokia has also decreased by 8 million units in Q1 of 2012.

We are always looking for some new extra-ordinary thing in the market now-a-days and the consumers therefore has been increased about 3.3% which is quite surprising.
