Samsung has recently ventured into the middle ranged designer phone market and Galaxy A5 is definitely the front runner in this segment. While some might scoff at calling this thin slice of metal a middle ranged phone but it is definitely much cheaper than the flagship phones of Samsung. While flagships are great for admiring from afar, the common man can own a piece of elegance thanks to Galaxy A5.
The phone is super sleek with a thickness of 6.7mm and is a pleasure to look at with its chamfered edges and metallic front. The back panel though is made of plastic and is not removable. A Li-ion 2300mAh battery provides a lot of power but you might have to rush to a power socket with your charger at the end of a long day. The phone runs on Android v4.4.4 KitKat which is a bit of a letdown. However, Samsung has plans to upgrade this phone to the superior Lollipop OS. A quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor combined with 2GB RAM provides decent performance.
The phone has a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera which is capable of clicking some good snaps. The 5 inch super AMOLED display is good to look at with a depth of colors rarely seen in middle range phones. Over all Samsung has done a great job of combining rich features with a stylish design that is a delight to own.
