HTC Titan Hands-on, Video and Pictures

It seems that HTC is firmly staying at the front position on the arrival of Windows Phone 7.5.  Today not only one but two Mango-powered handsets with outstanding specifications were made public by HTC. The one is named as HTC Titan and the other is called as HTC Radar. Out of these two the most popular and hit on the list is HTC Titan. It has quite respectful list of features out of them, the most remarkable is its extremely huge WVGA LCD of 4.7 inches. It has also got a 1.5GHz processor, 512MB RAM and 16GB of internal memory, as well as an 8MP camera with a dual-LED flash.

Because of HTC Titan’s big screen, there has a comparison risen up between Titan and the mini-tablets like Dell Streak etc. the snap shots and videos of the comparison of HTC Titan with the tablets shows clearly the Titan’s smaller size. But the fact is that HTC Titan is a handset not a tablet so there must be differences in sizes.  Thanks to HTC’s attentive design.

A negative point and draw back of this device is that a resolution of 480×800 seems low on a screen of 4.7 inches means that looking at the size of the screen; the resolution should have been more for a better feel.

Taking into consideration the size of the HTC Titan, it is amazingly thin; weights good is solid to touch. At the back side on the handset, there is a good amount of grip. So regardless of the poor  screen resolution, it’s a real treat to see a Windows Phone 7.5 device that not only stands out from its OS peers but is also different from any other handset present in the market. The camera is 8 mega pixels and has the same lens as HTC Radar that is f/2.2. It has a greater range of modes that adds more flavor to the picture taking experience which include assist panorama mode and the vintage filters. These modes are also found in late Android HTC devices. The handset has got a touch focus too.

Regarding the software of HTC Titan, it seems that the users will get what they were looking forward to. For the first time users, the HTC Hub has a more ‘HTC Sense’ like feel which gives the opportunity to access to weather, RSS feeds and stocks. This all is done through a horizontal swiping mechanism across a series of widget-like screens. As HTC Watch, connected media has also been included offering DLNA functionality. This enables the user to purchase movies through the service that can be shared by using the same account across multiple HTC devices.
