According to the latest news we have found out that Sony is trying to build a new high end smartphone powered by Android OS which will be able to compete with the latest iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S III. Sony will be bringing this new high end device a CES and MWC at the start of the 2013. This statement was made by Dennis Van Schie who is CVP, Head of Sales and Marketing at Sony Mobile Communications. He stated that right now company is giving finishing touches to the device and it will be ready soon.

In January 2013, CES event will take place in Las Vegas and after that Mobile World Congress is also scheduled to be held in Barcelona in February and Sony will be bringing its latest flagship Android smartphone to both events to show them off to the public.

Van Schie also mentioned that currently Sony is not going to work on a Windows Phone device, instead the company is focusing on bringing new Android based mobile devices that are going to give very tough times to the competition.

We have heard about several rumored devices that are in production at Sony, but the only smartphone which is capable of competing with iPhone and Galaxy S III is Sony Yuga. According to the rumors, Yuga will be coming with a quad core Krait processor chip and it will also feature a 13MP camera. In addition to that, this device might feature a large 5 inch screen with 1080p HD display. Of course these are only rumors and we still have no confirmed reports about the name or specs of the next flagship Android smartphone from Sony.

Sony rep also mentioned that the company is also preparing to display new tablets that will be able to compete with the leading tablets in the market right now.
