AMOLED HD and Big Screen Smartphones Coming From Samsung This Fall

Today we are getting different news about the high-resolution mobile displays. First we heard about Apple’s new idea of sharp resolutions for the future smartphones. After that, now we have heard another news from our source, who is a Samsung supplier. According to him, it is confirmed that Samsung will be releasing a high-resolution Android phone by the end of this year. This news was first broken by Eldar Murtazin who is an editor of a news blog. After that we heard a lot of rumors about the Samsung releasing a smartphone with a high-resolution Super AMOLED display.

According to the sources, These Smartphones will have 5-6” Super AMOLED HD displays and will be released this fall. Samsung is also planning to release a 7” tablet, which will be launched by the year end too. There was also a rumor connected with these facts that Samsung will be releasing a HD resolution and Ice Cream Sandwich carrying Nexus Prime and also a 5.3” Samsung Galaxy Q is being discussed.

Our sources add that 720×1280 pixels resolution isn’t achievable yet by LITI method but only can be achieved by Shadow Mask FMM lines and PenTile matrix just like the Samsung Galaxy having Super AMOLED display. PenTile matrix is apparently not a very good idea but it cannot be judged before its release. Shadow Mask was not selected because of its high cost, especially in larger Screens which are AMOLED. But Samsung has worked very hard to bring the cost downs for these HD screen, as for now HD screens are only 20% more costly than a regular Super-LCD. A very remarkable job is done by Samsung indeed.

Samsung now has a pretty much spare capacity and have probably nothing more to produce because, HTC last year changed their choice back to LCD from AMOLED screens because of the shortage of AMOLED and Nokia’s phones aren’t getting that much attention by the consumers. We are assuming that Samsung will release its new gadgets right after two weeks at IFA expo held in Berlin, Germany.
