A few days ago we showed you a new Huawei device named as Ascend Mate which was a really large 6 inched device but that was not the flagship device from the Chinese manufacturer. Huawei has also announced the flagship device of this year at the CES 2013 which is called Huawei Ascend D2.
Smaller than Ascend Mate
Keeping in line with the trend of 2013, just like many other flagship devices from major manufacturers, Huawei’s Ascend D2 also comes with 5 inch display along with Full HD resolution of 1080p, it also uses IPS+ Display technology and it will be able to feature 441. So, a 5 inch display screen makes it more portable and mobile than its bigger brother Ascend Mate and it is going to compete with various high end devices from different manufacturers like HTC Butterfly, Sony Xperia Z and upcoming Samsung Galaxy S IV.
Water Resistant
It is better than Ascend Mate because it has a higher resolution screen with smaller size which is completely opposite in Ascend Mate. In addition to that, another key feature of Huawei Ascend D2 is that it is water resistant. Yes this is another device which is going to be water proof.
Specifications
In addition to that, Huawei Ascend D2 will be coming with 1.5GHz quad core processor with Huawei’s its own K3V2 chipset. In addition to that, it will be coming with 2GB of RAM and it will be coming with 32GB internal storage but it will not feature a microSD card slot. That’s not it, it will be featuring a better camera with 13MP autofocus as well as LED Flash and it will also be able to capture videos in Full HD resolution with HDR. In addition to that, there will be a 1.3 MP front camera which will also be able to record 720p videos. Ascend D2 will be coming with Android 4.1 with Emotion UI running outside the box.
It is highly expected that Huawei will launch Ascend D2 in China first and it will be coming within the first quarter of this year. We don’t have any info on the price of the device.
