HTC Releases “Sensation XL” [Review]

HTC has released a latest version of its Sensation line of smartphones and it seems like the manufacturer has made many improvements in this device. The new model is called HTC Sensation XL and HTC has included Beats Audio in this device and many other additional features.

Large Display But Less Resolution

First of all, as you might have guessed it by reading its name, Sensation XL comes with a huge 4.7 inch LCD Display. But it has also been reported that HTC has lowered its hardware specs and this new model comes with a single core chipset. There is no memory slot included as well. On the other hand, it has the largest display screen size then its other partners in the lineup but its resolution is less than the other devices.

So, it seems like it will have a little cost and it will also satisfy the needs of big screen lovers. HTC Sensation XL would not be offered by any US carrier and you can buy the unlocked version from retailers.

Incredibly Thin

With the addition of large screen, Sensation XL was also in need of a wide bezel but it seems like HTC has added a narrow side bezel and it makes this device shorter than the upcoming Galaxy Nexus from Google. The device is also very incredibly thin as it measures only 10mm.

Might Be Uncomfortable Using With One Hand

So it is going to be a great device for people with larger hands but many people might find trouble while using the handset with one hand. Overall the Sensation XL has a very comfortable grip. When we talk about the resolution of the screen, well, 480 x 800 is a very low resolution for a 4.7 inch screen and when you compare XL’s resolution with XE’s 4.3 inch screen having 540 x 960 pixels resolution, well,  obviously XE has better resolution. So, in Sensation XL you will find text appearing a tad jagged. On the bright side, XL has a Super LCD screen which produces rich colors and has good viewing angles and can be compared to Super AMOLED screens.
