Samsung Galaxy Nexus Scores More Points Than iPhone 4S in Benchmark Tests

As you know, Samsung Galaxy Nexus is going to be the first device to have Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and its launch is still due in US. On the other hand, it is now available at UK markets and developers and analysts have already started to compare the device with other top dogs in the market.

Guys at AnandTech were the first one to do the benchmark tests. These specific benchmark tests are made for testing the device in some key areas and the devices score points with their capabilities and the results are compared with other devices in the market afterwards.

Apple’s iPhone 4S has the record of making highest sales in the first week of its launch, but still, many customers were disappointed with some of the issues they had in iPhone 4S and particularly the iOS 5.

So, the tests from Anandtech state that Galaxy Nexus is at the top and credit goes to Ice Cream Sandwich instead of device’s hardware capabilities. Well, the device is although very up to date and has decent processor speed and GPU but still, it’s the Ice Cream Sandwich which is responsible for its high speed.

As you can see in the graph above, you will notice that Samsung’s latest offering is taking the lead even over the most talked about iPhone 4S. As you can see the difference is not that high but still it will affect the day to day tasks a lot. You will also notice that the benchmark results of Galaxy Nexus are double from the Galaxy S II which is not that bad device and you cannot call it slow either.

It does not mean that Galaxy Nexus comes with everything and is better than any smartphone. As iPhone 4S comes with a dual core A5 processor which beats the Nexus easily and ensures a pretty smooth gameplay.

But still, keeping in mind the above results, we can say that the day to day tasks like emails, browsing and working are more important than the gaming. So, we should not think any smartphone as a game console only as it should have everything to be the perfect one. So, let’s see how public responses when the Galaxy Nexus hits the markets.
