Siri Now To Be Used in “Chevrolet”

Here we are with an amazing news for all the tech lovers as well as the Car enthusiasts. Well, due to the new voice recognition revolution in the smartphone world, it seems like people at General Motors have now become very keen to implement this technology in their cars as well. According to the latest report, General Motors are planning to introduce Appleā€™s very popular personal assistant Siri in a couple of its Chevrolet branded cars which will be released early next year.

Amazing Features

When Siri will be integrated in the new Chevrolet cars, it will be able to do the usual stuff like skipping through music tracks, changing radio stations or asking for directions. But in addition to that Siri will also allow new car owners to skip through their contact lists, add or remove appointments and reminders and search for local restaurants and businesses by just giving voice commands. These new features will all be included in the new Chevrolet Sonic subcompact, Spark minicar and the 2014 Spark EV battery powered car.

For the very first time Siri is used in cars

In the recent years, the smartphone market has been improved with a very fast rate and the technology is still getting better every day and cars are having a hard time to follow it. Well, Chevrolet is going to be the first car maker to implement the voice recognition system completely into its cars to provide safe, easy and portable connectivity to the consumers. Currently, Chevrolet uses MyLink technology in its cars and Siri will enhance the functionality of the existing MyLink tech in the cars.

Of course Siri will work when the driver will hook up their device with the car via Bluetooth and Chevrolet will offer a special Siri button the steering wheel for further convenience. It seems like General Motors is not going to be the only car manufacturer to implement such technology, as we have previously heard that Ford is also planning on using its own enhanced voice recognition system. Ford will allow drivers to pair their smartphone with the existing technology in the car. We will get more details at the 2014 Fiesta where Ford will display these new car models.
