Sony Looking Forward To Make A Movie From The Official Biography Of Steve Jobs

A recent report disclosed that Sony picture is negotiating with the publishers of a biography by Steve Jobs to make a major movie.

This was disclosed in the Deadline- an entertainment industry blog- in a report proclaiming that Sony is making a huge deal with the publishers of a biography by Steve Jobs to acquire rights to make a great movie on the man. If the Sony succeeds in acquiring the rights, the company is looking forward to make a film on the book.

Information on The Upcoming Official Biography

This biography is named as “Steve Jobs: A Biography” written by Walter Isaacson. He was a prominent journalist and also served as chairman of CNN and managing director of TIME. His book about jobs is based on many interviews conducted over a long period of time from many people including Steve’s family, friends, competitors, colleagues and adversaries.

Deadline says:

EXCLUSIVE: I’ve just learned that Sony Pictures is making a hefty deal to acquire feature rights to Steve Jobs, the upcoming authorized biography by former CNN chairman and Time Magazine managing editor Walter Isaacson. I’m hearing the deal is $1 million against $3 million and that Mark Gordon will be the biopic’s producer. But this will be an MG360 project, which is the movie production partnership between Gordon and Management 360. ICM reps both Isaacson and Gordon. Sony Pictures would not comment.

Originally To Be Released in Late November

The book was originally to be released in late November. However due to great public interest it is decided to be released earlier. As obvious this interest is because of Steve’s death this Wednesday.

If Sony really does make the film after getting the rights of the book, undoubtedly it would be an interesting movie. The studio also has a nice record. They have recently produced a great movie about the rise of Facebook by the name “The Social Network”.
