Google Starts Working On The Next Android Version Named ‘Jelly Bean’

I am sure that almost every Android user is highly looking forward to Android OS’ next build, Ice Cream Sandwich. It is being said that the next Android version, Ice Cream Sandwich will be the merged form of its both, tablet (Honeycomb) and smartphone (Gingerbread). A few days ago, Google’s Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt also announced himself that Ice Cream Sandwich will be releasing as soon as next month.

Keeping in view Google’s next major release soon, we have a new report for you, which states that Google is said to be working on the version after the Ice Cream Sandwich already, and according to that report, this new Android OS build will be codenamed as “Jelly Bean”.

Previously, the rumors were that Ice Cream Sandwich will be releasing in about November or Early December but on Thursday, Eric Schmidt gave revealed in an interview that Ice Cream Sandwich is surely going to be released in the next month. So, we can assume that the Ice Cream Sandwich OS build has been almost finalized, that is why Google, without wasting anytime, has started to work on the next Android version.

An anonymous source which allegedly proved itself credible many times, reported that, the successor version of Ice Cream Sandwich will be named as Jelly Bean. Certainly this name fits with the naming scheme of Google, as from 2008, Google has been naming Android’s versions after sweets in alphabetical order. So, it really coincides with the name of previous version which was Ice Cream Sandwich and the next one will be called as Jelly Bean. For now, we have not heard anything about the Jelly Bean build, nothing has been revealed yet. The source added that Jelly Bean will surely be packing “Game Changing Stuff” in it, we could not figure out what that meant but still there must be something like revolutionary features.

The source added that Google has not decided that what will be the version number of Jelly Bean build of Android, but still, Google did not even reveal the version number of Ice Cream Sandwich yet. Google is still figuring it out that, give Ice Cream Sandwich a 4.0 version number or just keep it within 3.x range. So, this discussion is still to be settled, but we can’t have any clue about the game-changing features coming in the Jelly Bean build.
