Method To Root “HTC One X” Using “Superboot” Out Before Even Release Of The Device

Android fans around the world are looking forward to see a new batch of smartphones which will come pre installed with Android Ice Cream Sandwich, a very major release of this year and one of those smartphones is HTC One X. HTC has planned to release One X in the UK around April while it will arrive in US in the summer. Well, for all those HTC and Android fans, we have another great news regarding the release of this new smartphone, all credit goes to the guys over at MoDaCo. They have released a utility known as Superboot which will be capable of rooting the HTC One X on first boot by installing su and the superuser APK. So, this utility will be sporting any of the retail One X device which has S-OFF and the tool also brings an HTCdev unlocked bootloader. The guys at MoDaCo have also said that they will be updating the tool when the actual consumer versions of the HTC One X are released. Well, here it is very interesting to see that the root solution of a device is out, while the device has not even released yet. Obviously, all the credit goes to the Galaxy Nexus and it also shows the dedication and ingenuity of the Android development community.

Method To Use Superboot Utility

Here we also have the step by step guide on how to use Superboot utility.

Step 1): First of all, Download the Superboot tool in zip file and save it on your computer.

Step 2): Boot up your device into bootloader mode by turning the device on by pressing the volume down button.

Step 3): Now extract the zip file; r1-endeavor-superboot.zip which was downloaded in the step 1.

Step 4): Open the extracted files folder and double click the file named as “install-superboot-windows.bat” file.

That’s it, now you have successfully rooted your HTC One X with these few simple steps. Now you can enjoy the beautiful freedoms in your smartphone. Another thing you have to keep in mind that Superboot image is insecure which means that users will be able to use adb remount and also have full access to ADB root on the One X.
