Samsung Announces Galaxy Phones Which Are Going To Get Android ICS Update

Today we are going to discuss about the list of devices which Samsung has officially announced that are going to get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update. Samsung has also mentioned the dates when these devices are going to get the update.android 4.0

 

 

The Next Web Mobile is the tech blog behind this news. The news was published in form of a report in which Samsung’s press release has been discussed specifically.

According to the same press release, Samsung’s Galaxy S II, Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy Note, Galaxy R, Galaxy Tab 10.1/8.9/7.7/7.0+ are the devices which will get the official Ice Cream Sandwich port. Current list has Samsung Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note smartphones on the top and these devices will get the update fist. The update will start rolling out between First quarter of 2012 which is in between January and March 2012. Samsung will make the decision itself by keeping in mind the  market situations and carrier requirements.

According Samsung’s Official blog:

Samsung Electronics plan to provide the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for GALAXY devices. The platform update for GALAXY S II and GALAXY Note will start in the first quarter 2012, and other GALAXY devices will soon follow.

The ICS-upgradable devices are the GALAXY S II, GALAXY S II LTE, GALAXY Note, GALAXY R, GALAXY Tab 10.1, GALAXY Tab 8.9, GALAXY Tab 7.7, and GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus.

So, if you and your friends are proud owners of one of the above mentioned smartphone or tablet, you should stop worrying because your device will definitely be updated very soon. Well, you can go for the leaked ROMs for Ice Cream Sandwich for your smartphones as well, but we would prefer you to wait for the official ROM OTA update to be released.
