Symbian Anna OS Hits the Market With X7 and E6 smartphones

Although Nokia’s Symbian is taking its last breaths but Nokia hasn’t given up on it yet. Nokia has launched two new premium devices X7 and E6. Symbian in these devices is also updated. X7 is a full touchscreen phone which is particularly focused on Entertainment and Gaming purposes. The E6 is aimed at business users and frequent travelers.

Nokia is starting to move to Windows Phone from Microsoft by the end of this year. According to them, they are still anticipating to sell over 150 million Symbian OS devices in the market.

Nokia X7 and Nokia E6 Anna OS

Symbian’s newly updated version is named as Anna. Anna is offering faster web browser latest icons for its main menu and Ovi Maps are also updated. Security features are also upgraded in it. A new feature “Split Screen View” is also introduced in the Symbian Anna.

Nokia X7 handset has a 4” large touchscreen with AMOLED high resolution and gorilla glass. It has 256 MB RAM and 1 GB ROM, 8GB external microSD card added. WiFi, Bluetooth and USB are there for the connectivity. It also has an 8MP camera with dual LED flash. 720p play back and HD streams are also its features.

On the other hand E6 has 2.46” touchscreen and a full QWERTY keypad as well. It has all the features a business phone can have. Including Mail for exchange, browser access to SharePoint, business grade security, PowerPoint, Word and Excel in a Quick Office. It has 8 GB internal storage and also an 8MP camera with dual LED flash.

Nokia claims that its Ovi store is full of almost 40,000 apps ready to download. And the Ovi server has 5 million downloads per day. Nokia has confirmed that they are keeping up with the competition even before the release of Windows Phone. It is expected that Symbian will have more updates in near future.

Nokia N8, E7 and C7 are also offered this Symbian Anna update, though these are old devices.
