Another Siri Like App For Android, Check Out The New “Dragon Go”
As you might know that Nuance Communications is the company behind one of the most innovative new technology introduced recently, yes I am talking about Siri personal assistant which comes in iPhone 4S specifically. Well, here Nuance Communications have brought another Siri-like app today which will target Android based mobile devices. The app is called Dragon Go! and in my opinion it is going to be the top Siri alternative for Android so far.
According to Android Market:
With Dragon Go! you can do more in less time like buy movie tickets as you walk into the theater, go shopping at local boutiques while you wait for your nails to dry, settle a bet at the breakfast table on the square root of Pi, or plan and invite guests to that night’s happy hour – all with just one ask of Dragon Go!
After testing, we can say that the app has all those features and abilities which are being advertised with its name, so, it’s a win for Android users here.
Ask Any Thing On Your Mind
Additionally, just like the Siri in iPhone 4S, you can ask Dragon Go! in your Android device about anything and any question. When you ask something, your audio command is sent to Nuance’s servers which forwards the command to appropriate services like the popular Wolfram|Alpha, YouTube, AccuWeather, Dictionary.com, Last.fm, Pandora, IMDB, Wikipedia, Yelp, Google, Rotten Tomatoes and Fandango. Well, all these above mentioned names are not the only which are accessible by Dragon Go! as the app will be able to access more than 200 services including the above mentioned ones.
System Related Tasks Can’t Be Performed
Well, there is a negative aspect as well. Dragon Go! is not a native Android app and its just a third party app, so it won’t be able to do any system related task like set alarms or send texts or emails through it, as all of that can be done by Siri because it is a native app in iOS.
At this moment the app is only available for Android users living in US, and if you live outside you can download it on your rooted Android device using Market Enabler app. While the app is also not supported by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich yet, so you must have OS version less than 4.0.
