App Named “Siri For Android” Comes In The Market

This year when Apple launched the Siri, well, it really got very popular and no doubt it can be called the innovative product of the year. Sure we had voice recognition and dictation apps before, but even the first beta version of Siri is a one and only app which have all those features which we don’t even find in the other apps.

Many Apps Released To Compete With Siri

After Siri released, many of the developers launched their version of Siri like apps for older iOS devices and Android, but nobody could reach the perfection level provided by Apple in the original Siri app. Still, developers are trying very hard to find the Siri alternative and catch up to what Apple has achieved.

Android especially has received many Siri like apps after that, and most of them claim full Siri like functionality for the Android based devices. Well, some of them are good too but sadly most of them are worst. Well, today we are going to discuss a new one, lets take a look.

“Siri For Android”

It is very interesting to see that app has been named as Siri for Android while the developer has written his own name as “Official App”. Now, here it all looks very fishy because when you observe the name and all, it looks like a scam or something. Take a look at the app’s interface given in the screenshots below:

So, the developer used name Official App, definitely tells us that he is implying that it is an official Siri port for Android which is clearly impossible to happen. So, as you seen in the screenshot, the app just shows a Siri like icon and when you tap it, Google’s own Voice Actions app appears. So, it means that at this moment the app has been downloaded thousand times at the Android Market and definitely the number will grow because Google doesn’t control in its own app store. So, there is a possibility that the app might be doing any kind of nefarious things in the background, we have no idea. Take a look at the app at the Android Market.
