Expected Features of Apple’s Latest iOS 5!

iOS 5 is the Apple’s latest OS build for its legendary devices, iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. By now, Apple has released eight beta versions of this for the developers, and it is highly expected that the gold master version of this iOS 5 will be seeded specially for the iPhone 5  in the last week of September to the Apple’s manufacturing partners in China, Foxconn and Pegatron.

iOS 5 was announced on June 6, at WWDC 2011 in a press note address. It was also announced that iOS 5 will having 200 new features in it. Following are some major features which will be coming in this new iOS.

iCloud:

First of all, we will discuss about the most discussed feature called the ‘iCloud. iCloud is a cloud service introduced by Apple through which a space of 5 GB will be given to every user for free. Users can store their music, apps, books, TV shows and even the Photo stream on their iCloud account. Additionally, iCloud will be able to save your contacts, mails, documents, settings and other app data too. So, you phone will be always on the go, you can have your extra memory on the go every time you need it. iCloud’s memory can be increased by purchasing a storage upgrade for your device.  You will be instantly connected with your music, videos and movies all the time with this great iCloud service.

Notification Center:

In this improved version of Notification center, you can keep track of all your notifications in a single place. Yes, you can see your emails, text, friend requests, calls and many more notifications with Notification center in a single location. You can even see the notification for current weather in this center. All you need to do is select what content you want to see and what you don’t and it will always show you only those notifications. They will just appear briefly on the top of your device’s screen. That’s how you won’t be disturbed if you are doing anything else. You can even interact with the notifications with the lock screen on by just swiping.

iMessage:

Just like BlackBerry’s messenger service, Apple has introduced its inter device messaging service. All you need is an internet connection, 3G or WiFi and you can text free to your friend with an iDevice. It’s a built in app and will also feature sending of photos, videos, locations and contacts. So, with this feature you can stay close to your loved ones every time.

Twitter:

iOS 5 will have a special Twitter integration in it and you can easily tweet right from you Safari and even from photos, camera, Youtube, or the maps app. So, it is like a dream come true for all the Twitter lovers.

Newsstand & Reminders:

Newsstand is an app in Apple’s iOS 5 which will act as a custom newsstand for all of your subscriptions; it will organize your magazine and newspaper subscriptions in different apps. You can easily access your favorite magazines and stories easily with this app. You can also purchase magazines and newspapers right from your Newsstand folder, Newsstand also automatically updates the new issues too.

A Reminder is an improved version of the TO-DO List app, you can save every reminder in this app and it will alert you. You can also put locations in your reminders and when you reach that place, reminder will alert you and remind you about what you needed to do there. Reminders also support iCloud.

Camera:

iOS 5 will also be having an improved Camera app, this new camera app can be opened right from your lock screen too. You can also use many gestures in the camera app like pinch to zoom, single tap to focus, and exposure locks to take an instant picture. This app is also integrated with iCloud and you can enable Photo Stream feature which will directly download your photos to your other devices.
