Federal Government Denies Cell Phone Tracking Technology To Punjab

Administration of the Punjab had requested the federal government to provide it the cell phone tracking technology. But the federal government does not accept their request and denied them. This tracking technology could help them in the tracing of kidnappers, terrorists and other hideous crimes.

“The federal government has given the argument that the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), which possesses this ability has not allowed that it be given to the Punjab administration,” a senior official told The News. “This makes us helpless to a large extent in hunting down horrific crimes.”

The News published a new report which states that Federal Government has declined Punjab administration’s request to provide them the mobile phone tracking technology. This technology will be used to help in reducing crime rate in Punjab by tracking those, who are involved in the heinous crimes like high profile abduction, kidnapping and other terrorism cases.

“The Punjab government does not have such apparatus, which poses a huge handicap for it to reach the criminals without any delay,” the official said

The official added that, after a crime is committed, most efficient and obvious way to get clues about them, is by just tailing theCell Phone Tracking Pakistan criminals through mobile phone tracking. Basically, law enforcement institutions need a very sophisticated equipment to track the crime suspects. Cell phones are being used in abundance by terrorists and criminals and to finish them perfectly also. Using this technology many criminals had been caught in the past which tells about its accomplishment. Crimes are committed everywhere in the world. CCTVs are used to capture them in many countries like Britain, United States and many European countries. In Pakistan mobile phones are largely used for these purposes so mobile phone tracking technology is very important in this part of the world to catch the criminals.

“While in the United States and most European countries specifically Britain, the CCTVs are helpful in getting hold of those committing terrorism or heinous crimes, we in Pakistan largely rely on the cell phone tracking and data because the culprits in all cases use mobile phones,” the official said.

Law Minister of Punjab, Rana Sanaullah told that they requested the federal government many times but still not a word on it.

“We can’t do anything when the federal government is not willing to provide us with the technology.”

In the past 18 months Rs500 million were given to the criminals in respect of eight kidnappings of high profiling and in other cases for one person’s release 100 million rupees were paid by the family members.

Police or other authorities are never being contacted by the family members or the one who is kidnapped after the payment to the kidnappers. This tells about the failure of providing help to their relatives by the government.

They had fear regarding the safety of their love one being kidnapped. They could kill abductees if they contact the Police. This fear boosts the criminals to commit more crimes.

Premier intelligence agency is being contacted if the government agency wants to have a look on the mobile phone record during an investigation. Agency gets all the information they needed very quickly. Share or not this kind of information is the agency’s decision.
