Jelly Bean Update For Galaxy S II Will Soon Be Released By Samsung

There is no doubt that Samsung’s Galaxy S II was the most popular and highest selling Android smartphone of its time, well it’s not that old now as its only been two years since it was launched. Last year Samsung’s latest flagship device Galaxy S III also rocked the charts and got so much popular among the consumers but still the older Galaxy S II was one of the best Android handset in the history of mobile devices. Of course currently, there are many contenders for that spot but today we are going to discuss the same old Galaxy S II.

A little while ago, some reports suggested that the Korean manufacturer was planning on bringing the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the older Galaxy S II. Some leaked info about the update was also shown on a web page from Samsung Korea which made it a little more official. Samsung was very quick to take down that info from the web page but now Samsung’s own spokesperson has officially confirmed that Samsung Galaxy S II will be receiving the Jelly Bean update. The spokesperson revealed this info in an interview with CNet Asia, as he stated that this update will start rolling out to the different regions of the world in the next month. Firstly, it will be rolled out for the Galaxy S II users in Singapore and from there it will expand to other parts of the world.

You have to keep in mind that it is not going to be an Over the Air update. Instead users will have to update their devices via Samsung Kies. In addition to that, this update will reduce the internal memory of your device from 12GB to 11GB because of different new features it is bringing. These new features mainly include most of the ones that were released in Galaxy S III, including Smart Stay and others. This Smart Stay feature is pretty amazing as it works with the device’s front camera to see whether the user is sleeping or not, if the user is sleeping, the display goes to sleep as well.

We are all waiting anxiously for this amazing Jelly bean update for the Galaxy S II.
