Verizon Introduces Samsung Illusion

After several months Verizon has introduced a package of a 4G LTE smartphone named as Samsung Illusion. It is about $80 with contract and has large number of features as well. It is about 047” thick and has 4.02 oz weight; its major part is made up of black plastic. Its display is a bit smaller 3.5” with HVGA resolution (320×480). Four capacitive buttons are there under the screen which allows you to access the other features i.e. menu, home, back, and search.  Volume rocker and micro SD slot is also there.

This smartphone is based on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread. Samsung`s TouchWiz user interface is also there in it with the help of which we can access the contacts, messaging etc from the main screen. Standard assortment of widgets can also be seen while there are some other widgets as well, added by Samsung, for a program monitor and different clocks. The Hummingbird processor of 1GHz, with Power VR SGX 540 GPU, makes it quite fast to load the apps and for other activities that user wants to perform. The RAM that is there in this smartphone is not what was required; it should be more than 512 MB.

Browser

The browser that is there in this smartphone is based on WebKit and it works really well, Adobe Flash is supported. Its download speed has been recorded as 0.79 Mbps while in case of upload it is 0.72 Mbps. The stratosphere users having 4G LTE are able to have more than 8 Mbps downloading speed and an upload speed of 4 Mbps.

Camera Performance

Camera works pretty much better and offers different settings like color effect, resolution etc. The image is captured within 2 seconds after tapping the button. The camera outside is much better as it can be for 3 MP camera while brighter portion may be over exposed. There is no autofocus in it and images, taken from closer than 3-4 feet, appears blur.

Excellent Voice Quality

Its voice quality is more than expected, the voice is clear and sharp while no background noise is there. The battery is also working at a good rate which is 6 hours of talk time and stand-by time of 10 days.

As a whole this smartphone is really good with an affordable price and fair size of the screen. But you can have the Samsung Stratosphere by adding a less amount, $ 20, in it which have Super AMOLED display with a screen of 4”, 5 MP auto camera with flash along with a sliding QWERTY keypad.
