How To Track Your Apple iPhone? [Tutorial + Pictures]

Earlier an article was written about the uses of IMEI and how to check IMEI. It was mentioned in that article that if someone has snatched or stolen your mobile phone then you can trace location or block that phone so that your data cannot be accessed by anyone. But don’t you think that calling the subscriber and knowing its position will be a bit lengthy procedure because they will surely first confirm that that phone was actually yours or not etc.

But for Apple users there is not much to worry about because Apple has come up with a solution to this problem. Apple has introduced “Find my iPhone” feature through which you can not only find the exact real time location of your iPhone but also can send messages and set a lock code on it online.

There are some simple steps by following which you can set up this feature for your phone.

STEP 1

First of all you will need to make sure that your phone is compatible for this feature or not. The operating system of your iPhone must be iOs 4.2 or later. And another important thing is that if you are making free account for the first time then you need an iPhone 4 for this purpose.

STEP 2

Now after the first step, head towards the “Settings” icon and then choose “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”.

STEP 3

Now tap the “Add Account” icon and select “mobile me”.

STEP 4

Here enter your Apple id and password.

If you have an iTunes store account or have ordered any software from Apple’s online store then you already have an account.

But if don’t have an Apple account then simply tap on the create account icon and follow the instructions.

If you are a “mobile me” subscriber then your “me.com” or “mac.com” email id and password can do the job.

STEP 5

Now the 5th step is to verify your account. If your Mobile Me account has a status of “Not Verified” then check your email inbox. You will receive a verification mail from Apple. In case you don’t receive the verification mail then select your “Mobile Me” account and tap Resend Verification Email.

STEP 6

Now return to the “Mobile Me” screen and switch on “Find My Phone”. A message will appear, select “Allow”.

STEP 7

All is done now. In the last step you will only have to sign in to www.me.com and you can see the current location of your iPhone. Moreover, you can also set a pass key lock and send messages in it.

This is a very much helpful feature by Apple. And it will surely be liked by Apple lovers.
