NFC Technology To Be Included In The Next Generation iPhone
It’s been three months now since iPhone 4S was released and it seems like about time when the rumor mill regarding the next iPhone started. The rumors and speculations will be coming in the coming weeks and months related to the next generation iPhone, as it happens with almost every Apple product.
A very popular tech blog, 9To5Mac has reported that one of their reporters has interviewed a well-connected developer at the recently held MacWorld convention, who claimed that next generation iPhone will be bringing NFC support (near field communication). The same developer stated that he was building an app which included the ability to process transactions using the NFC technology. Well, he avoided providing any official statement about the hardware present in the upcoming iPhone but he stated that he has talked to various Apple iOS engineers and they are deeply working on near field communication technology.
As you can see, it is very risky to make an in depth app which is based on a merely speculative hardware capability, but it seems like the developer was very confident on developing his app and it will prove very lucrative for him if everything goes by the plan.
So, we can’t say that it’s the first time we have heard about the near field communication technology being included in an iPhone. As you might remember even Bloomberg speculated last year before the release of iPhone 4S that it will have the NFC technology, but Apple didn’t go for it then. Now, it seems like NFC is one of the emerging technologies which will change the way how you pay for things in the future and it’s about time when Apple started to implement it.
Master Card or VISA?
According to smart money, Apple and other manufacturers are going to feature NFC technology in their future devices but there will be a long fight between manufacturers while choosing the carriers like MasterCard and Visa for their devices. So, if Apple is thinking about introducing this new technology, there is a bright chance that other manufacturers like Samsung will also step into this industry and bring new devices.
