Which is the Best Mobile Operating System (Final Part)

Mobile Operating System Comparison:

Right, as you already know, we have been discussing about mobile operating systems and have previously written two parts on the subject. In part 1 we discussed about Java based mobile phone operating systems, in our second part we elaborated on Symbian and Android platforms, in the 3rd and final part of this article we will discuss Windows, Bada and the iOS, as always we look forward to your feedback and questions on this subject.

Windows

Windows is the most recognized operating system in the world. It is famous not because of mobile phones but because of laptops and personal computers. Windows is actually Microsoft’s property. Windows operating system started its journey from personal computers in the mid of 20th century. Slowly and gradually it became common and gained immense popularity. It has also started its journey in the mobile world. Many people like windows mobile and many people find it difficult to use. So, windows mobiles have not gained much popularity among common people. But there are also such people which use only windows mobile. It is actually a completely different operating system so there is a mix response in the audience. Windows mobiles are also a bit expensive than mobile phones with other operating systems. Samsung, HTC, Motorola, Sony Ericson and Apple and some other companies are supplying their windows mobile in Pakistan.

BADA

Bada is Samsung’s own operating system which is being used nowadays by Samsung in many of its latest handsets. According to Samsung by introducing BADA, Samsung phones will be transformed into high end and affordable smart phones. Samsung disclosed the big news of introducing BADA platform on 10th November 2009 and released its first BADA based phone, WAVE GT S8500, on 1st June 2010.

Bada is a platform desined with unique features. It has web browser control based on the open source Webkit and also features Adobe Flash supporting flash 9. It offers interactive mapping with points of interest. Bada also supports various mechanisms to enhance interactions such as motion sensing , vibration control, face detection, accelerometer, magnetometer and GPS.

Unlike Nokia, Samsung has not allowed any other mobile developing company to use its Bada operating system in their devices.

Samsung has recently announced its plans to release a couple of smart phones based on the latest BADA 2.0 later this year.

iOS

When so many companies have developed their own operating systems then how can Apple be left behind. Apple has also developed and operating system by the name of iOS. All the latest iPhones including iPhone 4 are based on iOS.

Latest iOS is a major update to Apple’s mobile operating system. The main notable thing in it is the “Multi tasking” feature which allows quick switch between applications without closing an application. While the rest of improvements are basically tweaks, to existing functionality.

Another important feature is there are no exact positions for the placement of icons on the menu screen. You can drag the icons at the exact point of your own choice. iOS is a very powerful and fast operating system and Apple is looking forward to make it even more good.

If we talk about the user opinions then it’s really liked by people because Apple has not let down its users in the recent past by launching new and almost flawless devices.

i hope that now you will have learnt a lot about the operating systems and from now on while choosing a mobile phone you will surely look at the OS column in the specifications.
